Rotation

Definition

The process of transformation occurs when each point is rotated at a fixed point through a certain angle and in a certain direction.

Properties of Rotation

(i)		The resulting image has the same shape, size and orientation as the object.

(ii)		The centre of rotation is a stationary point.

(iii)		The distance of all the points of the image to the centre of the rotation is equal to the distance of the object to the centre of rotation.
