Chapter 5: Wave

What you need to learn in this chapter

In this chapter, we will be learning about the fundamentals of waves. We will describe what waves are and identify the different types of waves. We will also study damping and resonance in oscillating or vibrating systems, and understand the effects of resonance in our daily lives.

Furthermore, we will explore the reflection of waves. We will learn about the angle of incidence and reflection, wavelength, frequency, speed, and direction of propagation of waves. We will also draw diagrams to understand the reflection of plane water waves through a plane reflector.

Lastly, we will study the refraction of waves. We will examine the angle of incidence and refraction, wavelength, frequency, speed, and direction of propagation of waves. We will also draw diagrams to visualize the refraction of waves at different depths.

By the end of this chapter, we will have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of waves, damping and resonance, reflection, and refraction.
