What you need to learn in this chapter

In this chapter, students will refine their ability to understand and interpret a variety of texts by employing effective reading strategies. They will explore and expand ideas for personal growth by reading independently and widely across different genres, both in print and digital formats.

Students will learn to identify the main points, specific details, and key information in extended texts covering a broad range of familiar and some unfamiliar topics. They will develop the skill of deducing the meaning of unfamiliar words by analyzing contextual clues and surrounding vocabulary.

To enhance comprehension, students will use a variety of print and digital resources, both familiar and new, to verify meanings and deepen their understanding. They will also practice recognizing the writer’s attitude or opinion in complex texts, fostering critical reading and analytical thinking.

Additionally, students will study the structure and stylistic features of different genres at word, sentence, and text levels. They will engage with various print and digital texts to investigate and analyze global issues, encouraging a deeper awareness of the world around them.
